The European Taxpayers’ Association honours Members of the European Parliament

For the first time, the European Taxpayers’ Association has awarded a certificate of honour to 19 Members of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, across all political groups, who have distinguished themselves during the 2014–2019 parliamentary term – now drawing to a close – in their work on behalf of European taxpayers, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The candidates were selected in collaboration with SME Connect and the European Economic Senate. Together, they represent over two million members across Europe. The selection criteria were: 1) political stature, 2) closeness to citizens, 3) commitment to taxpayers, and 4) SME-friendly policies. The categories cover the respective committees, the leaders of the political groups, and four special categories.
